Terms to Know:
Section 1: Arcs
- Congruent arcs, in the same circle or in congruent circles, are arcs that can be made to coincide throughout.
- Congruent arc are referred as equal arcs.
- A minor arc is an arc less than a semicircle.
- A major arc is an arc greater than a semicircle.
- A central angle is an angle formed by two radii.
- An angle is said to intercept the arc cut off between its sides, and the arc is said to subtend or determine the angle.
Section 2-6: Equal Arcs
- A chord is said to subtend or determine an arc.
